I think gameover happened when Gene decided to go with Toxic Death Spiral Financing, selling shares at deep discounts.

Gameover happened when a two bit company with no revenues and no assets increased the AS to 5 billion shares.

No real company without significant revenues and valuable assets would think of increasing their share count to such an extraordinary level.

Only scam companies needing fodder for their printing press operation require such high share counts when they have nothing to justify them.
