I understand your and Chrisbaskett's respective viewpoints. However, the potential fall out from this particular release is explosive enough to backfire creating a perception to many that may have an effect not at all expected or intended.
Personally, I could not care less who 'discovered' North America. However, many people do and they aren't going to sit still for re-writing history that has been believed for hundreds of years. It may not matter what highly respected institutions DNAPrint is working with on various projects to date - companies don't want to be involved with ill received contoversy. It may just get too hot in that kitchen. It may even cause those who are, or may be considering the pharmacogenomics side of the equation to think two, three, four times or more (if at all) about going forward with us.
This may be thought of by the 'powers-at-be' as back door, or side door entry, but I really think they are traveling down the wrong road with this one. Time will tell. Can't put the Genie back in the bottle.
I'm a far more optimistic person than most, and I wholly support DNAPrint and wish them much success . . . I just hope this gimmick doesn't implode.
