Hi Willy, my point is that they do not report which is why those figures are negligible. There is even a gray area in the interpretation of the regs that they can use to exempt themselves from reporting. Think about this. If you were the MM and short, with the option of not reporting, would you?

Ok, i'll give you an example to clarify how shorts can manipulate the SEC # - let say an off shore brokers hmmm - Bahamas :) has a client who holds 1M shares of CAVR - since their accounts are pooled account, they can short (sell) their clients CAVR into the market - what do you think the short position is? Well according to SEC it's 0 since the broker sold their clients position rather than borrow from a different broker house.

When the client sells, they will need to buy back - they know most of their clients are impatient and will to sell at a loss if they can show weakness in the stock - bonus for them. But when a company like CAVR comes around with solid fundamentals, that when they get stuck - push then to a trigger point than the squeeze is on.

Please don't shoot me or anything! But I did a test through my broker(demmit hate it when he is always right)So we shorted 20k shares of CAVR, and to my surprise(not his) they never showed up on anyone particular site (according to him). And, yes I lost a bit, was well worth it! LOL wouldn't advise anyone to do the same test. Although it does get the adrenaline moving..sheesh! Keep Well!
PS: don't ask me how he did it, he thinks I'm going to drop him if I learn to much..lol smart man! Kidding he is a cash cow for me! LOL told him I wanted to buy all the outstanding shares "NO NOT AGAIN" lol.Keep Well!
