No doubt, imM, that a lot of the "persistant pests" currently posting innuendo and cyber-smear have personal agendas, for sure. But I was speaking of those posters who have been around for some years; they post on a plethora of boards; and they never have a positive word to say about any company. In fact, they keep repeating the same tired rhetoric and lies, over and over. Those are the people for whom the "basher handbooks" were written, and IMO, they do exist. Another thought: Yes, there are professional touts posting hype for some companies; so why would there not be professional bashers also? If one reads the boards of such companies as GMXX, GECC, SSPC, PCBM, USXP, BMII, IFTP, just to name a few, the same aliases appear on most of them, always bashing the stock. This is not to say that I am making a suggestion that any of those stocks are scams or are not scams; I don't have investments in any of them and don't know. RB has TOSed several long-time basher aliases; but they just come back as something else; general paresis being one.

My opinion . . bashers and hypers will be around as long as the Penny's and Pinks are. It's the honest investors who have the fortitude to try to create a balance of credibility, IMO.

There have been a couple of suits against professional bashers. The most recent 'classic' is Golf Entertainment (see Edgar August 2002 8K filing).

Also: "Chairman Files and Serves Defamation Lawsuit On Internet Stock Bashers

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 2000--(OTC-BB: TVCP). TALK VISUAL CORPORATION Chairman of the Board of Directors Michael J. Zwebner announced today that he filed a defamation lawsuit in the Superior Court of Massachusetts on Monday, May 22, 2000 and that service of the Complaint and Summons was completed today in Los Angeles, California on one of the defendants, Roberto Villasenor. According to the Complaint, Mr. Villasenor has published more than 1400 "filings" on the Raging Bull message boards, using at least two aliases, the_worm06 and el_gusano06. The lawsuit alleges defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violation of Massachusetts General Laws c.93A arising out of the defendant's use of the Internet to disseminate false and defamatory information.

In addition to service of the Complaint and Summons, the defendant was also served with a Temporary Restraining Order which enjoined Mr. Villasenor "from altering or destroying, disposing of, transmitting, or otherwise permitting to leave his possession, custody or control any document or any information stored on any computer or computer-readable medium that relates to, refers to, concerns, or mentions Michael J. Zwebner, Talk Visual Corporation, Raging Bull, Inc., Leslie L. French, or an individual using the alias `InternetZorro.'" Mr. Zwebner further stated that a number of additional defendants, the real names of whom are currently unknown, will also be served in due course. Talk Visual Corporation has withdrawn the action it previously filed against Mr. Villasenor.

And there have been others. There are getting to be more and more every day.

I think you are correct in your belief that the bashers on the VLVT RB board are not"paid".
I do think that there is a very good chance that they were involved in a well organized bashing of Veltex ... while at the same time establishing a significant naked short position ... starting almost immediately after Veltex bought the shell in 1999.

There are many post on the RB board from that period asking about where all the shares that were being traded were coming from. Some of the shares were from sale on newly issued shares ... the same thing we are seeing now ... that is fairly easy to track. But there seemed to be many more shares being talked about than would be justified from the relatively small number of new shares that were issued.

This is all just a theory of mine ... but if it is indeed true it would explain why the "unpaid bashers" are putting so much energy into keeping the share price down. Another part of this theory is that when the share price dropped to .0001 and stayed there for some time, these naked shorters thought that they were home free and would never have to "cover". Thinking this, they may have already spent their profits ... making it even more important to them that they keep the share price down.

We will probably never know for sure how all the parts of this puzzle from the past fit together ... and to me it really doesn't matter a whole lot. What matters is what is going on NOW.
