A zinc finger is like an address that you attach to a genetic sequence and that address directs its insertion to exactly the location you want it to in the genome. No other method of genetic modification can come close.
KBLB can use the zinc fingers as many times as it wants to insert other genes into other lines of silkworms, which is very much a part of its business plan. It has exclusive rights to over 200 spider genes that it will use to modify silkworms to produce a wide array of very valuable high tech fibers.
And you only have to modify one worm and you can generate an entire line from that one (thanks to biotech it doesn't even take two).
