Kblbpatience. Yes, I believe you are correct. Any news from the CC will reset the patterns.

But, to some degree, the upcoming CC is already factored into the near 30% raise in the share price over the past 4 days. That is, the market of investors in this stock believe the future news of the CC will be positive. If they believed it would be negative, we would have seen a 30% drop in share price over the past 4 days.

So, I believe you are correct. After the CC the JCP will need to be reset. But, until that time, given no news, the patterns of the past two days suggest continuation, and not a major reversal up or down. But, the pattern we see tomorrow may change that prediction. As I said before, if the JCP only identified what is obvious after the fact, they would be useless. They are used to "help" predict the future. As explained by ES1, they must be used with other charting indicators. But, so far I am finding them better than the coin toss, which is about all we can hope.

I'm not sure if you can say "neutral news" the market will react up or down when news comes out and the chart continues. We have been building on the sial announcement and anticipation of upcoming CC, when the news of the specifics of the CC come out, yes we could reset up-or down . 50 day as a guide.

The way I see it the JCP are just another type of indicator but it is not a crystal ball. It is more like an emotion meter to gauge what the market is feeling as a whole.

Used alone I think the success rate was about 40% of every trade made. Using common indicators was around 15%.
The book I mentioned has the figures in it base on every pattern made in every stock traded for over 10 years. It is an incredible amount of information. They give the success rate of every pattern and how often it was a win or lose over that 10 years. I think it was billions of patterns. They also have a comparison when used with typical indicators. Using 2 or 3 common indicators with the JCP the success rate was way up around 70% wins.

I use to think that JCP was right up there with big foot and the loc ness monster but it has proven it works for me many times. It works exceptionally well on KBLB. Just look back over the past 2 years at the patterns and they work most of the time.

To answer your question I think the news will cancel out any pattern that was forming when the news hits but it will just start a new pattern immediately
