Every active business entity in Texas has that same statement from the Texas Controller. It is not a filing it is a certificate/letter of good standing. It means that Renfro Energy LLC has paid its annual dues.
Just go to any Texas business entity and click on the button/tab that says Certificate of Account status.
If the company is in good standing with the Texas SOS it will have an identical letter to the one that you posted for Renfro Energy LLC
If the company is in bad standing it will have a letter that looks like this:
This entity is not in good standing as it has not satisfied all franchise tax requirements.

The date on the letter changes each day. If you check it again on May 6, 2011 it will say May 6, 2011. If you check it again on May 7, 2011 it will say May 7, 2011. As long as the company is in good standing that good standing letter will remain there. According to the letter for Renfro Energy LLC they are in good standing until May 16, 2011 then they are due to pay their annual fee again to stay in good standing.
