Please help me to understand. If you have a pie, i.e. 100 % of something, and you cut it into 4 pieces, you still have the same amount of pie as if you were to cut it into 8 pieces. Just that the pieces are smaller. The whole is the same size.

If I was to get 1/4 of the pie , I could have one piece of 1/4 of the pie or 2 pies both 1/8 of the pie. I still get the same amount of pie.

They are contractually bound to make shares available for conversion of existing debt in lieu of loan repayment. They have no spare ("surplus") cash to throw at an irrelevance like a buyback. I think some of the people here need to understand basic investing before becoming involved in a risky stock like GERS.
