Scanning certainly makes sense. What REGN ultimately might need is a trial with "as-needed" Lucentis vs. "as-needed" trap. I suspect that the trap would require significantly fewer injections over a multi-year period.

Radiation for wet AMD as an adjunct to Lucentis? Oraya Therapeutics, a private company, is testing such a treatment:
