tutorial on flow cytometry here:
http://probes.invitrogen.com/resources/education/tutorials/4Intro_Flow/player.html
bullet 16 is of particular importance. Also 22 ("threshold") which deals with how to separate out "debris" (see presidential column). The big take-away for me is that, despite how complicated this seems, the assay is computerized, has been in use for decades, and is equipped to deal with this type of bio-marker.
Will someone who is more familiar with this explain why this will take 9mos.?
I think I'm safely assuming that cancerous (lung) cells are the same size as nonC ones, or at least uniform.

From Pilot Clinical Trial Q&A:

What are the most important conclusions from the pilot study?
· CyPath® is a significant, new biomarker for cancer.

· We can objectively identify and quantify cellular characteristics from the sample on the slide and have patents pending on this technology.

· We confirmed that the CyPath® test is simple, inexpensive and easy to perform on large at-risk populations.

· An adequate sputum sample can be collected from most individuals using an FDA-approved device for the clearance of respiratory secretions.

· The CyPath® test can be performed and processed quickly.

· Necessary refinements and optimization of the assay can be completed with methods and technologies that are currently available.

The answer by JC had to be stated as negative otherwise it would have been a misleading statement. With poor specifity percentages like the ones we saw it would be an outrageous statement to say that Cypath detects cancer. All in all this stock is just like a vicious circle. I want Cypath to work but JC to be bitchslapped. I genuinely think the technology can work but only if you have a best of breed team handling the trials and overall company plan execution. This guy killed the credibility of the busines so even if there were investors out there willing to throw a lifeline JC's decisions have been flat out dishonest or questionable to say the least. When you buy a stock, you buy the management team. This is what I have been telling this board for over 18 months already. JC is like a woman who cheats. Would you be able to trust that woman again? Of course not. I think this company spent more time trying to find a good allibi for their fouled plan, than what the trial actually took. And now it feels like this is back to zero with the "BMOD demonstrated proof of concept"....what is up with such statement? I think we knew that years ago. The moment that a company releases a 100% accuracy phase I data it already demonstrated proof of concept. I think this for sure will hit sub-penny land. Right now the stock seems cheap at 0.04 cents and everyone is complaining. Wait until this hits sub penny levels...getting back to 0.04 will feel like winning the mega lotto!!
