All this blather about the fines is just that, blather!!

BD&C had the material panned down to the black sand and then picked out virtually all of the gold manually. This is the only way to test for gold that can be separated my mechanical means. Fire assay, like Guido, separates all of the gold in the sample even if it is inside a piece of sand. The percentage of fine gold by weight is probably less than 25%.

The Cangalli material is cemented with at least 10% clay so it is hard digging. The clay sticks to the flat flakes and then they float out of the plant. There are a lot of Knelson concentrators laying about the countryside down there. The large quantity of black sand overwhelms the cone and it spits the gold out.

But I am sure that a bunch of has-been hardrock miners will pull it off! NOT!!
