I have found that it's all about using the right bait.

Start with laying a knock off Gucci bag just off to the side of the trail.
When she stops and looks down you leap forth, bat in hand, and whack her on the head.
Depending on your swing and precision, she might not be able to speak coherently for a week or two.. Just be prepared for that.
