these type of movies build each week. by the way 6 million for a documentary is very good. if they keep this up for 10 weeks that is 60 million. i have heard very little press for cats so with disney 's promotion it will make disney another very fine payday.if we can do one fourth what disney does we will do just fine.

Jugy - I think this is a better comparison to how Turtle will play-out...similar number of theaters, documentary and 3D....

You don't read well do you...

"African Cats documentary made $$6,003,200 opening weeked in 1,220 theaters for an average of $4,921 per theater. This is a Disney movie and is narrated by Sam Jackson and didn't do very well."

March of the penguins was the second highest documentary of all time behind Farhenheit 911 and when they expanded from 778 to 1867 theaters they grossed $7.1M that weekend. And they averaged a "healthy $3,812" (per theater)...$1100 less than African Cats.


$3,812 per theater is less than $4,921....just admit you might have been speaking out of your range of knowledge.
