Annual Meeting


Raise your hand if you are planning to attend the upcoming Annual Meeting.

I think it would be nice to see if we can get a group together to have a nice meal in Boston and a chance to meet some of the posters in person

You know, that can be very memorable.. I remember when I accumulated quite a large position in CheckFree (electronic Bill Pay) in 1998 (it went public in 1997). A bunch of us posted on the Silicon Investor web site, and the CEO of CheckFree, Pete Knight, invited us as guests to the 1999 annual CheckFree institutional investor's conference in Atlanta. I flew out there and attended that conference. It was great.. From my purchase price of $18, CheckFree ran up to $120 when they bought MicroSoft's bill pay system for $1 billion in 2000 (that gave them 70% of the bill pay market with that purchase). I exited that position in the $90's as I knew it was over. CheckFree was eventually aquired by one of the check processing firms.. CheckFree technology still powers many of the electronic bill pay banks..Their key was interfacing to all the different bank formats..
