Overall the earnings were quite strong with most companies meeting or exceeding analyst estimates.

The YOY comparisons will not be so strong going forward but the absolute earnings continue unabated through the end of the year.

The immediate action of the FED yesterday to remedy traders interpretations of the committee indicates that the FED wants to guide the market higher at a measured pace as well.

So the FED will be accomodative to a rise in market values IMO.
