Actually it looks like the short interest Tuesday was 2,513,042 and total volume of 7,056,019. Wednesday it was 4,464,666 with a total volume of 13,566,701. I don't know if the MM's have brought the price low enough to cover their short interest yet. Could get interesting, but I don't know enough about the new short regulation to know for sure.
