#144259 RE: geo_newfie #144252

Sorry, thought that you were indicating that they had changed the emphasis to REE as of recent. They have always emphasized the REE aspect Louril Hills (next to RR) and only incidentally have they used the terms IOCG and OD in their PR of that property.

However, they make statements similar to KATX in describing another of their Newfoundland properties (Cross Hill REE property).

Quote:

"Using this IOCG exploration model, Altius Minerals completed reconnaissance prospecting and sampling which is documented in the database for Newfoundland and reported Uranium and mineral occurrences on what is now the newly acquired claims. In addition to this, a multi-parameter airborne survey was flow over this region for Altius Minerals, which shows prominent magnetic anomalies along this corridor. The historical dataset will be utilized by Cache to plan an aggressive exploration strategy for the upcoming field season. Olympic Dam-style deposits typically occur within extensional Proterozoic continental rift sequences, adjacent to major structures. In this region, there is significant potential for bodies of iron oxide with copper, precious minerals, uranium, and rare earth mineralization similar in style and setting to the giant Olympic Dam deposit in Australia."

Seems to be a common comparison for such properties in Newfoundland. May explain in part Ken's use of similar terminology -- ie. not as an inappropriate pump as some have in afterthought accused him of doing.
