I'm guessing they've been doing that for years and years. However, MBs can bring in small investors who provide a market for those who are willing to accept shares as payment for goods or services.
Large investors tend to be much more sophisticated and thorough in their due diligence. The bulk of large investors I've seen fund companies with GOSY's balance sheet are death spiral convertibles, which generally are disastrous for shareholders and preferable only to a complete shutdown of the company.

All of the other funding bridges have been "burnt". For 10 years spencer screwed private placement investors. spencers lack of ability to define a deliverable and honor a commitment have closed all avenues for funding except trolling for starie eyed newbie pinkie investors.

Any other investor with real cash is going to demand control, force spencer to define objectives and then meet those objectives. spencer would rather go down in flames than meet his commitment's to employees and investors.
