berg...MY GUESS, SAMSUNG, IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER...

Since CES 2000 it has been obvious that SAMSUNG was deeply involved with DATA PLAY...

They practically had DATA PAVILION deicated to show case their ptoducts of the futre...

Also, SAMSUNG is KOREA INC...They have multiple tenticles, including the connection with Digital Way...

I wouldn't be surprised that they jumped at the chance to goble up the DATA PLAY technology, not because they had in some sinister fashion planned it that way, but because it gives them a chance to compete strongly with SONY and other giants with a second generation of hand held products that would be more atune to the needs of a huge developing market...
