That all sounds great, but those numbers are assuming you have tractors and other equipment to harvest rice like professionals. Not so in SL.

Could you please provide some links to back up your numbers. There are so many varieties of rice that all have different yeilds. I believe we are growing one of the nerika (new rice for africa) varieties, which produces about 100-200 bushels per acre. Over a year ago when I was doing my own sgcp rice crop research rice in sl was goiing for 20-30 dollars per bushell.

If you do a board search you will find my valuation.

Back then when I was talking with john about the ag stuff, he told me 1/3 of the crop went to replanting activities, 1/3 went to the people/villages we work with, and the last 1/3 would be available to the open market.

BUT, this was awhile back, and there has been an fr with updated info as to the agreements we have with the sl people.

It all looks good on paper, but the reality in SL is much different. Although the ag will be a huge money maker for sgc, it may take several more years for this to turn into money in the bank.

For now it gauruntees our socially responsible position with the GOSL...

Do a board search for "rice numbers"
