Avastin was studied in combination with paclitaxel, older chemo, by outside groups, not by Genetech to get accelerated approval. I assume Genetech wanted to use newer chemo/drug in combination for better result, thus chose docetaxel in one trial, anthracycline/taxane or capecitabine in another.
