Clare

I believe those clips are pretty old. Check out this link: http://www.paperclick.com/devices.jsp. 47 devices, and I’m sure many more than that now.

I believe if new phones have Intel inside, the phones will be Paperclick compatible. At the end of one of those clips, there is a retailer’s barcode placed over the publishers, which is not turned on YET. You can bet it will be turned on so that the retailer can be the one to provide the information. If the consumer doesn’t get what they are looking for, they will soon, with Word and Trademark registry, be able to get what they are looking for. Retailers will not only have to, but want to turn their codes on.

I think one particular application would be the consumer may be able to scan every product in their shopping cart and see exactly what the store specials are and automatically calculate the total cost, and perhaps soon, with one click, also pay for those items. Read Le-bon ton-roule’s posts going back at least to the recent CTIA event. You should see that Virgin has been using their own barcodes and if you have been following along, will see it looks like Virgin is in the bag. If I understand correctly BSDS will handle auditing and collection. Ask yourself why the BIG Cornell money and the FCB announcement.

This is HUGE Clare. I think NEOM can be bigger than Google.

Hey Jer!

Someone might want to check on the dates of those broadcast clips on the NEOM website. Those phones are old models and since then all phone manufacturers have released many more models on which Paperclick (tm) will work!

NEOM is *not* just about price comparison. But on that point, your wife, along with many other people, will continue to do their DD on purchases from home - however - it's the new generation, those who only know a world with computers and mobile devices who, we strongly believe, will use this technology to achieve these tasks on the go. Aside from addressing your example, it's also the word registry istelf, tranforming 'search' into 'navigation' which will be a huge plus for neomedia.... There are many points here which others may wish to highlight, but again, ain't just about price comparison.

As for the proliferation of camera phones - it's rampant. I live in Singapore from where I have watched Asia's love of the camera phone explode. Like most tech trends, they tend to flourish in this neck of the woods first and then become mainstream in the west. EVERYONE I KNOW has a camera phone here. I kid you not. From my colleagues, to my wife's grandmother.

Best..
