well, thought yours might be a jasmine tree of some sort
but then the leaves look like the belong to the magnolia family

I like it but the pollen doesn't like me

In New Orleans it was commonplace, back when things weren't so clean, yellow fever etc., to plant them around the house because the strong smell would combat the odors of the city.
