Could be many things involved and why. I'm not a big expert on Xray machines but maybe LLSR could be utilizing certain minerals (Gold, Silver, etc) for it's scanners: http://www.lantislaser.com/oct_dentistry.asp

Or there's a different reason. Lantis is a legit company so i'm sure there's a reason why.

They could potentially use the imagining technology in someway to assist with finding mineral and element deposits.

"Optical Coherence Tomography, or ‘OCT’, is a technique for obtaining sub-surface images of translucent or opaque materials at a resolution equivalent to a low-power microscope."

That's how wikipedia defines OCT. I feel like that could be helpful.

It's only a matter of time till more people take notice and LLSR makes a significant move. It's only got 39 mil shares in it's float! A little volume is all we need

After reading the filing more carefully along with the PR it seems that LLSR is doing it to make some money! $$$$$

TAG is supposed to be going into mineral production phase soon, the first being GOLD. The revenue from that, they are hoping, will help them further develop their technology and corporate structure.

This is looking really good. Gold + novel imaging technology!! We need more eyes on this.
