I didn't say there was anything illegal about shorting. I was talking about a type of collective investment scheme that was illegal. Furthermore, I never said anything the shorts did was illegal. For most shorts, I've found that, for the most part, they don't even know what they did. A real short seller wouldn't have told anybody, especially on a message board, that he was short. Most who claim they were short here, were not and the ones that were received their short recommendation from some newsletter they subscribe to. There's a lot of BS on these boards. Only about 10% of it is truth. Your fist hint of BS is obviously the messages that contain adolescent verbiage. Professional investors who work with large amounts of capital and have a strong business acumen do not speak like gas station attendants and surfers.

Conspiring, as a group, to affect share price is against SEC regulations. It's called manipulation.

How would "the shorts working together to conspire" be illegal?
