Lucent Technologies (nyse: LU ) will report fiscal second-quarter results tomorrow before the opening bell. Analysts expect Lucent to report earnings of 4 cents per share on revenue of $2.307 billion. Prudential Equity Group downgraded Lucent to "neutral weight" from "overweight" on March 28 and said the company's sales growth may slow as a result of major consolidation within the telecom industry. "We continue to expect Lucent to deliver 2005 sales growth near the mid-single digit range, in-line with carrier capital expenditures growth, but believe the cyclical recovery for the group has been completed," said Prudential. - Peter Kang, Forbes -
