As you pointed out, nowhere do they assure us that yields are at industry standard norms. Only that the stability continues to improve...
I have had the opportunity to monitor yields at a large unnamed semiconductor manufacturer and they are stable, essentially from the getgo. To have unstable yields so far into a process generation is very unsettling. This is the technology partner that AMD fans are convinced will make for an quick and easy 65nm ramp. I am not so convinced.
