Sonora Entertainment Group is fortunate to enjoy very productive relationships with critical industry experts. Chief among them is Mike Doban, international cinema consultant. Mr. Doban has helped Sonora in an advisory capacity since its earliest days, and still serves as a valued industry sounding board.
As President of Arcangelo Entertainment, Mr. Doban specializes in all aspects of operating cinemas and cinema circuits, with expertise in site location, construction, equipment selection, operations and programming. He has excellent relationships with the top distribution executives at all major studios as well as the independent film companies, and is able to acquire films for exhibition for all clients on a nation wide basis. Mike has helped clients establish and expand cinema circuits throughout the United States, Asia, Mexico, Russia, South and Central America and Africa.
Mr. Doban has also distributed films throughout the United States, and has excellent working relationships with all national, regional and art film cinema circuits.
Prior to founding Arcangelo, Mr. Doban spent over a decade with United Artists Theaters International. As Senior Vice President of the International Division, Mr. Doban was a member of the executive site selection and design approval committees, reporting to the CEO. He also created and oversaw acquisition of international film rights for all international locations, and negotiated with studios and independent distributors for both programming and theatrical distribution rights. He also created and supervised marketing and advertising campaigns for all regions.
As Senior Vice President of the Film Department, Mr. Doban was responsible for programming all theaters throughout the United States. He worked with independent and major distributors in licensing movies for the theater circuit, and was responsible for negotiating contracts on a local and national level for exhibition rights on behalf of the company. He was also a member of the executive committee for site selection and design approval.
