I think there is plenty of reason from the short perspective to discount any recovering SP in the absence of news as it has been eroding up to this point due to bear raids, etc...

Whereas we see a move up and declare... 'we've finally hit bottom'. They have good reason to continue to believe the SP will go down again...

So they will come to the decision later than one would suspect from our vantage point - and perhaps that's what happened...?
