Nanomedicine is the medical application of nanotechnology. Nanomedicine ranges from the medical applications of nanomaterials, to nanoelectronic biosensors, and even possible future applications of molecular nanotechnology.

All medicines work on a nanometer scale? Traditional medicines work through chemical interaction between molecules, which is far far smaller than the nanoscale. Even larger proteins like therapeutic aptamers are much smaller than a nanometer. If one were speaking in terms of scale, picometer might apply for traditional medicines. Still, I have never heard of picomedicine or picotechnology since at that scale it all becomes biochemistry rather than nanoscale biochemistry. I guess picographic images of molecules and their interaction might be picomedicine.
