as soon as i sent that i know that last line certainly may be an exaggeration, but i do believe its a possibility. i'm no pulmunologist, but certainly these people will live years longer - if it will be 5, 10 or 20 time will tell
my point however is that this 10% improvement is really like regaining a third of their "lost" lung function so it could translate to serious prolongation of life (as well as quality) if patients don't ultimately tachyphylax to the effects of the drug (and since it was sustained a year out it looks like the probably won't)
