Who is selling so the shorts can cover?

I appreciate the desire to see this as short covering, but if that's the case, who is selling to the shorts?

Could it simply be that this is somehow related to the overall market decline of the past couple of days?

Sure, volume is the highest in awhile, but 163M shares traded on 11/18/10, a couple of days after the last quarterly report.
