UAE & Oman Foresee $250M In Biometrics Contracts To Be Won
Galton Biometrics Staff Writer
November 16, 2004

It is common knowledge that security is at the top of government agendas everywhere and therefore no surprise that the leading Middle Eastern states have been planning the world's biggest biometric-based identity program for its entire civilian population.

According to industry insiders, the move represents the single largest roll-out yet of a Civilian Authentication and Fingerprint Identity System (CAFIS) anywhere in the world.

With total contracts worth around US$250 million expected to be awarded to winning companies, the program dwarfs those previously announced by both the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Biometric technology is about identifying people based on their physical characteristics using information technology. Biometrics is considered the only reliable solution for protecting the identity and the rights of individuals because it recognizes unique and unalterable features.

Using information stored in databases or on chips in smart cards, biometric identification can involve the contours of a hand or finger, fingerprints or the pattern of an iris. Even variable characteristics can be used such as voice, the way a person writes a signature or the rhythm when typing on a keyboard.

The scale of the CAFIS project planned by the Middle Eastern state is vast and will involve the setting up of almost 2000 centres.

Galton believes without a doubt the age of biometrics is here and the technology will directly affect everyone over the next few years and for those of us that have nothing to hide it should not be seen as an inconvenience as in fact it will be the opposite. Using Galton integration methods with the technology that it has will cause smooth passage for general business and tourist passengers or visitors to those countries where the system is installed.

Galton (www.galtonbiometrics.com) would like to confirm that it has licensed a unique fingerprint biometric technology algorithm that it intends to integrate into its proposed service delivery offering in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This technology will extract a unique short code template based on a person's fingerprint pattern and will be complemented with our comprehensive project management and integration services.

With this package, Galton is uniquely positioned to provide Fingerprint Biometric Service Solutions for its clients on a broad array of security platforms from identity cards to border security systems. The Company has initiated discussions in the UAE for the use of its Biometric Finger Print Technological Service Solution.

Galton's complete fingerprint biometric services offering provide an innovative end-to-end security solution that addresses our client's security concerns. For example, Galton will soon launch an identity card solution for the specific use of non-national workers in terrorist targeted areas where worldwide disruption could be at its worst.

A critical factor that sets Galton's proposed solutions apart from traditional technologies is that our product and service solutions do not search databases for a corresponding fingerprint template. Rather, our total integrated solution converts each fingerprint into a unique Biometric Identifier Number (BIN) and therefore allows the database to be searched for a number rather than an image, expediting the database search process and thereby providing more effective and accurate identification search protocols.

The Company's total product and service solution offers real time fast, effective and secure searches for known terrorists and or non-authorized individuals. It provides absolute individual recognition on a single license basis by adding a BIN identifier to the identity cards, allowing secure border, work place and immigration security and safety to its clients. Galton's technology partners are currently working towards providing an innovative, scalable BIN search capacity for very large databases (5 million +).

I really don't need your help. You're arrogant.

You asked me questions. I replied.

For your info., whether you care or not...you are not worth anymore more effort on my part. I moderate about 10 messages boards on iHub. Many of these I've started myself. All of them I have made much better. I don't moderate this board and my position is small, so I don't follow GALB very closely.

I bought some shares of this co. around .85-.90 cents because of their news. This is not the only stock I own and what I have invested here will not be noticed if this co. goes to zero.

YEAH, I POST HERE BECAUSE I OWN SOME SHARES IN THIS CO. AND I'D LIKE TO SEE IT GO UP. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THAT?

I notice you have a free membership here. I'm a paying member. GLTY.

Later.
