TORONTO, March 28 /CNW/ - Sprott Inc. (TSX: SII) ("Sprott" or the "Company") today announced that David Franklin has been named Chief Executive Officer of Sprott Private Wealth LP, a business unit of Sprott that provides wealth management services to high-net worth individuals, foundations and trusts.

Mr. Franklin joined Sprott Asset Management in 2008 as a Research Analyst. Since then he has served as a Market Strategist, while also co-writing the widely followed "Markets at a Glance" articles along with Eric Sprott. Mr. Franklin previously worked at Integral Wealth Securities and Toll Cross Securities in Institutional Equity Sales. He has an Honours Degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Sprott is also pleased to announce that Paul Wong has joined Sprott Asset Management LP, which manages the Sprott family of mutual funds, hedge funds and managed accounts, as a Portfolio Manager.

Mr. Wong has more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry. Most recently he was a Portfolio Manager with Natcan Investment Management, where he managed three natural resource-related funds with more than $350 million in combined assets. Under Paul's management, all three funds delivered above-median performance relative to their respective peer groups for the three-year period ended February 28, 2011. Previously, Paul was a proprietary trader with Scotia Capital, and held portfolio management positions with TAL Global Asset Management and Jones Heward Investment Counsel. Mr. Wong earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
