The ? volume is IHUB's(ADVFN) way of tagging a trade that goes off dead center between the bid and the ask...

from today's "trade" tab-it's not obvious that happened...the one time I looked earlier, the bid had disappeared and the ask was 2 so any trade that was executed at 1 would get a ? volume...

the other possibility down here in the cellar is sometimes they fill at 5 digits but they always only print 4--i.e. a .00005 sell with the bid=0 and the ask=1 will print as .0001---if you see a 00 on the tape, it went off lower than .00005-ouch...

The 'Buy', 'Sell' and '?' columns - Where the 'Price' is closest to the 'Offer' price, the trade is considered a 'Buy'. Where it is closest to the 'Bid' price, the trade is considered to be a 'Sell'. Where it is dead centre between 'Bid' and 'Offer', it appears in the '?' column; this indicates that the trade cannot be identified as either a 'Buy' or a 'Sell'.
