Temp- A key point of this process involves the fact that the net long term effect may be reducing emission by 50%. The algae consumes carbon to grow and releases it as burned therefore the carbon is only released in to the atmosphere once instead of twice.
I have been following this company for a few years now and the industry is changing dramatically.
If oil can simply be created in it's purest forms to be used by many industries, that in and of itself takes some of the pressure off the price of oil.
As major breakthroughs are obtained in ALL areas of this field they will collectively bring the costs down and make the products more viable. Just advancing these technologies can go a long way towards lowering the cost of all forms of energy.
Oil won't be able to rise in price unchecked once alternatives are found or created. those things don't happen over night. They must be funded now to even exist in the future. Burying our heads in the sand will make sure solutions are never found.
That would be the way big oil would prefer it at this time.
AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN ANYMORE!
Many players are joining this game now.
