It appears there are 3 different industrial compounds there.

I think Alabama biodeisel is probably the small one between Dr. Lee and Edmonds Avenue, not one of the two big ones directly on the river.

There appears to be a public dock at the end of Garner Road and that they do have access via a dirt road that runs along the edge of the field, a bit more direct than the paved roads.

And there is a rail line running two blocks away on the other side, probably a depot nearby, particularly since it's on the river.

If you zoom out on the map, you will see that bridgeport is at the end (or the middle, depending on how yankee you are) of a huge highway going up through Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the Chesapeake Bay...the valleys the pioneers used a few hundred years before asphalt.

I love Google earth/satellite. I can play with it for hours.

The rail line goes to Chattanooga, though it's a bit further than I thought. From Chattanooga there are rail connections to New York, and Atlanta.

In the other direction the train goes to Birmingham, and there you can connect Los Angeles, via New Orleans.
