I’m not exactly sure how I’m relating this but my very good friend is the lead singer for a rock-group called Alter-Bridge (also some of the former members of Creed). When he was in the movie Rock Star his celebrity was no problem and even today for him it’s not a specific problem (as they get more popular??), except for stalkers (cyber and reallife)they can even be a problem for relatives and even me at times, sometimes celebrity draws out the goofies.
LG....your situation is very similar to mine. Not only have I attempted to aid in bringing a couple companies to justice(one of which contained some very unsavory individuals), but I've had to deal with ticked off shareholders who amazingly blame me for the companies failures. So much so that they've attempted to track down my daughter in school and women who threatened to wanting to discuss "things" with my wife. Why would I want to subject my family to those dangers?
