Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease explain to me how a stock that is waiting on good drill results to blow up goes DOWN when good drill results come out?

Some of this could be those who bought in well under these levels, not wanting to gamble on the results and lock in some profits. That is not uncommon. Right now we are in earnings season. If I buy FORD let's say, expecting a great earnings number, and the stock has ramped up into the release, I might take some of those profits off the table, just in case there is a negative surprise.
