exactly, relative to my point in question- why would he leave now..

you would complain if you found out later he was on the board as a token because they didnt want to pr him leaving.

I wouldn't complain, in fact I wish they PR'd him leaving AND staying on the board as a token.. the anticipation alone of him retiring or comfortably enjoying himself in Acapulco would make a dreamy PR. We would have broken all highs today if a PR like that came out. They don't have to tell us he is "pursuing" better things..
