Elmer, You seem to have read somthing different than what I wrote. Anyway, I can agree with you that AMD has gotten behind Intel in some matters. Transition to 0.13u was rough.
I think H. Threading is going to be quite a good thing. Also, they are doing well with migration to smaller geometries. Great job Intel.
It was looking bad for AMD when the 2200+ was a paper launch. But now the new Tbred B stepping with an extra metal layer has some product of 2700+ available. So, that is a little better.
I know also that quantispeed is not actual MHZ.
That AMD is a distant #2 is quite obvious to me. They will do better or worse going forward, just as they have in the past. I don't mind being characterized for seeing AMD potential.
So when you get that 64 bit SOI processor you are wanting, you might want to use it in a server or workstation, somthing like that.
Thats enough for tonight. Gotta get some sleep and dream about AMD.
