USA- as I have said, I love your enthusiasm, but I have been doing this for over 20 years- there is NO WAY you would know if it is a scam at this point (and I am not saying it is). Keep doing your megga research, that is always best, but iunderstand that there are literally thousands of stories over last 20 years that I am aware of that turned outr to be just "stories".
