Thank god I had gains much higher than my SPNG losses in both 09 and 10, but I'm trying to find out if I can take the loss write-off in 09 (when discovery was made of the scam). Anyone?
I'm trying to do the samething for 2009 because I did make some nice gains from spng in 2009 and then gave back some of my gains in 2010. I filed a 1040X on my 2009 taxes trying to get back what I paid based on spng gains. I pretty much said there was no bid or ask after the SEC shut down trading in sept/oct 2009 and then the officers were arrested, etc...I filed the 1040x back in Oct and still waiting for an answer.
