People actually do believe in this stuff, as kids do in Santa and the Easter Bunny or adults do in God.
All ridiculous, but it brings in big bucks, just see what those prostitute visiting tv preachers achieve. Just to say I do believe in the stupidity and gullibility of mankind. So with the proper marketing this can go sky high.
