Perhaps Zeev had worked on the development of the HFT algorithms and was applying his work to his own trading. At one point I was scalping AAPL 15-25 times/day and posting in real time. I found it nearly impossible to trade and post in a timely manner without getting into a confused mess, yet Zeev managed it. Yes, Zeev was a lot smarter than I am, but I have often wondered if he had developed a black-box trading system and just sat there while it traded for him and he posted the results. This is not to take anything away from Zeev, he was inquestionably a genius and a fabulous trader whether he was doing it with just his brain or using a product of his brain doesn't matter much.
