Rickych...Again, it was an ambiguous PR by Ike. Ike gave no indication at all that they would be able to choose any form of Vanity Keyword, but instead said they'd be the first ones able to use their Twitter account names as Vanity words.....this much we can agree on. No where did Ike state that if they don't want to use their Twitter account name that they have the option to use any Vanity name they want.

But logic, though tough to use with Ike, would seem to indicate that they are ONLY allowed to use their Twitter account name. In other words, the PR, ambiguous as always, would easily lead most to believe that if Twitter users DON'T USE their own account name that THEY CAN'T HAVE any other form of Vanity word.

Why the Vanity concept is not being implemented all across the board to every Tom, Dick, and Harry is something that is still leaving us questioning Ike. The Twitter related move is a step in the right direction, but one step does not complete any journey or even get us half the way there and, as is the case with Ike, most one-step moves are just that: one step and nothing else. Ike better be more forthcoming with the plan in the sense of whether Twitter mgmt is involved or not and whether Twitter users can choose any Vanity name and how exactly Twitter users will get this info en masse if Twitter mgmt isn't involved.

I think the idea is that if they subscribe under their username on Twitter and provide an authorization for information, they can be processed immediately. If they desire a different keyword (vanity), there may be a vetting delay. This is why twitter usernames are first come, first serve.
