jobu: Your concern is well founded.
Wytec was a tiny start-up company in the 1990's. Although it was granted 5 patents from the USPTO, many other large and small companies received numerous patents on parts of LMDS technology during the same period.
Any significance the Wytec patents may have had or currently have has never been proven. Neither the original inventors nor the Wytec patents have ever received any public recognition of technological advancements or other significance over the last 15 years.
The fact is that there is no evidence whatsoever that the 5 Wytec patents have any monetary value.
The Wytec founders/patent inventors attempted to license the patents and failed. They then sold the company to Ohana Wireless which also failed at trying to license the patents and then sold the company to AMDH Holdings, which also failed. MDGC purchased AMDH under it previous management which also failed to license or monetize these patents. Westergard has been in charge of MDGC for over a year and has also been unsuccessful in licensing or monetizing these patents.
Why does anyone believe that these old patents are so significant?
Who is really making most of the claims about the value -- the company or message board posters?
Shouldn't investors consider the possibility (or probability) that these patents are actually worthless given the fact that multiple entities have tried to monetize them without any success?
If these patents have been infringed for years as some would claim, why haven't any of the companies that owned the patents ever filed suits for patent infringement?
