I'd like to make two points re: XOM/Anadarko.
1) The bid round closed Dec 15, 2004. It's too late to "sweeten" the deal wihout letting all the other bidders have the same opportunity, otherwise this could be tied up in court forever. Granted, xom surely thinks that they don't have to follow the rules... only the other guys. Nigeria has already told xom that their 25% won't get them operatorship, so with the bids closed, imo it's strictly Noble fast track vs slow mo...
2) XOM may have drstp in their corner, (mainly by intimidation imo), but Offor has Nigeria in his, and Nigeria has 50% more say so in the JDZ than does drstp.... who do you think will win?
