It is true that nothing about the "fraud argument" has ever risen above the level of suspicion, meaning that no accusations have been substantiated. And there is much for longs to hang our hats on to assure us the company is totally legit. But the matter is clearly not out the window in the minds of some. If it were, CCME would be trading at a substantially higher level.
I think there are varying degrees of skepticism among money managers who run funds. Most probably have no opinion or interest as they see all small cap Chinese stocks as an asset class that is too risky to bother with. The trick is going to be for CME to differentiate themselves from the pack. Everything they have done so far has been a step in the right direction, not the least of which is the dividend program. I frankly don't think there is too much more they can do to convince fund managers, who will ultimately determine what kind of multiple the stock gets. Maybe time will bring them around. Maybe attitudes towards Chinese stocks in general will change for the better. We just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
