I think it's time that lifetime appointment of judges on the federal level be reconsidered, or that there be some test of mental competence.

Scalia seems to be just plain crazy, and having been on the receiving end of seemingly incoherent opinions from judges I can also bear witness to the fact that this is happening in the courts on lower levels.

The mentally incompetent and morally bankrupt should not be permitted to continue in judicial office. When this is tolerated by the system, the credibility of the entire system is compromised.
